Sorry, wasn't laughing at you. I was simultaneously watching something funny on TV when I posted.

Why do people keep posting Mike Huckabee’s picture?

“He looks his age these days.”

Most,if not all,80 year olds do look their age.

That’s for sure, Burt would never make it today. He has too much body hair and is not a metro-sexual.

I knew someone who worked in a factory with the guy that made Ned Beatty squeal like a pig.

That was before I had seen Deliverance. When I finally did I finally understood how big a deal that was.

Remember Gator McCluskey? :-)

Those gritty old films look dated now, but White Lightning was actually a pretty good film. The sequel wasn't as good (though it was equally gritty and full of small-town southern realism) - I just couldn't buy Jerry Reed as a heavy villain character. White Lightning is one of that uniquely '70s genre - the revenge film. Tarantino gave it hat-tip in one of the Kill Bill films, by using a snip of the soundtrack in a fight scene.

He did pretty well in “City Heat” with Eastwood.

And “Hooper” was pretty good, too.

My wife and I both loved Hooper. Partly because the area they were blowing up as part of the stunt, the one with the big brick chimneys coming down, was the Married Student’s Housing at the University of Alabama in the late 60’s.

Northington Campus was originally a WWII Army Hospital with the long buildings chopped up into apartments. And the tall chimneys were for the steam heat system for the place.

UofA was going to pay to have it torn down to build new modern housing, but the movie company paid them so that they could blow it up for the film.
