hen Fallout 4 launched, it included several difficulty modes, the highest of which was Survival. This was a deceptive name for the mode, because fans expected that it would alter the mechanics of the game in a manner similar to the Hardcore Mode from Fallout: New Vegas. Unfortunately, Survival just altered the amount of damage that players inflicted and received, along with a few other minor tweaks like an increased likelihood of powerful legendary enemies spawning. According to a recent tweet from the developer, players are getting a proper Survival Mode in the near future.
Tweets from Bethesda Game Studios stated: We know [fans are] ready to learn what's coming for Fallout 4 DLC. We're not far off, and we think you'll be excited.â The studio also went on to say, "We're also doing a complete overhaul of Fallout 4 Survival mode. Food, sleep, diseases, danger and more. Stay tuned."

Of possible interest to you, sir.
Survival mode is too easy. I’ve played the game through, or through to the “main” ending, and have concluded Fallout 3 is the better game. Without the incessant kidnapping and raiding of “fortified” settlements which lead to the same set of enemy locations ad nauseum, Fallout 4 would be little more than a construction sim with some side quests.
Ugh. I have Black Ops and GTA 5 loaded and ready to play, but Fallout 4 has burned me out. I played and replayed Skyrim for months and loved it. F4, not so much.
What a disappointment IV was. And to make matters worse I played it 20 minutes too long to get my money nack from Steam.
Wow, thanks for the feedback, guys. I had been wondering about buying an xbox1 or ps4 to play it. Didn’t make sense to upgrade the pc graphics adapter since the model I would buy would be nearly the same price. Good to know it’s questionable. I’ve been content catching up on old games instead which fly on the newer machines.
Well.... That’s good news. I’m a fan of the Fallout series from the old days. I’m still working my way through the game on my first play through, and a truly difficult survival mode will make a second play through worth it.
I would like to give it a try, but it would mean buying an upgraded console (and the game) and cash is a little tight right now for me.
I did spend many, many hours playing New Vegas, though and thinking it might be worth it?
The game demands a lot from a systems GPU if you want to play it on Ultra graphics settings. I had to upgrade from a XFX 7870 to a Powercolor 390X Devil (I had to hustle up overtime to pay for it!) to do so and stay at about 60fps. I’m not sure how the console version graphics compares to PC other than the 30fps lock. I’ve read so many complaints about the game that I pretty much just ignore now. Some people really enjoy it like me and some don’t.
I hope Laz won’t mind if I ping his list for him...
I agree. Of the games I have played recently, I enjoyed Dragon Age Inquistion a lot more than Fallout 4. I hold out hope that the mod community will make this a more enjoyable game.
Bet Laz was up late last night deep in the wastelands...
New Vegas is much better storywise and RPG wise, and I think it was also designed to favor a wider diversity of builds. The areas 4 improved upon NV basically have to deal with the better aiming system and the settlement system. Melee is really good in VATS but is awkward outside of it, while unarmed is a disappointment (four different weapons, can’t use the weapons with power armor, sneak attack bonuses from Ninja scale much better with melee...)
The settlement system is plagued by horrendous settler AI (the recruitable settlers are extremely buggy) and very small build limits. You can do an exploit to increase the build limit, but then your game’s FPS will be shot.
Another thing I personally don’t like in the game are the RNG weapons, although they did include fixed unique weapons like they did in 3 and NV. Most of the effects are forgettable, but then there’s the gamebreaking explosive shotgun and minigun, which will make survival a joke.
Fallout 4 is a good game, its problem is that it exists in a world with NV.
What do you know about the 3/29 update for Fallout 4?
All I know is that if it doesn't load automatically on my Xbox then I probably won 't be seeing it.
Mr. Mataz is a serious gamer. Perhaps he can shed some light on the question.
You’ll need to buy some DLC (Downloadable Content).
Laz! Quit slacking. We gots questions.
