You say he was never for a wall, then you say he was for a wall, fences, drones and whatever else would work.
You understand that even Mr. Great Orange Hope had said as much. You realize the can’t logistically be one straight wall across the border, right? I know it’s enchanting to get lost in the goose step rhythm of a man who said “build the wall build the wall build the wall” because you can just knock your brain outta gear, repeat, repeat, etc and your guy believed it to.....until he met with border towns who had to explain to him why some areas would be impossible to have a wall and would need a fence or armed guards, etc.
He concurred. He just forgot to mention it at his rock star worship a thons because it’s hard to make a catchy chant or soundbite out of reality.
Of course I read what I posted. Did you? I pointed out that Cruz gave a vague answer where he talked about building wall(s), not a wall, but walls, and gave no specifics about how many miles he would build.
Cruz gave an interview 4 years ago where he was asked if he was in favor of building a border wall. He didn’t even bring up the issue on his own but was merely responding to a question about whether he supported building a border wall. His answer? “I’m in favor of walls, fences, drones, anything that works’. And you consider that a ringing endorsement for building a border wall? Anyone with half a brain can see how much wiggle room he leaves for himself with that answer.
Cruz was asked about building a wall and he answered like a good politician with a vague, CYA answer designed to satisfy everyone but give as few specifics as possible. How many miles of fences and walls does Cruz propose? It could be 10 miles of fence and 10 miles of wall. He never specifies, then after this interview which took his supporters all these months to find, Cruz went virtually silent on the issue until 4 years later, when Trump made building a wall a central issue in his campaign and forced him to talk about it. If you think this is proof that Cruz wants to build a significant border wall, you’re drinking some very strong Kool Aid.
Trump has made it clear that he plans to build a significant stretch of wall that will cover the entire border, minus some stretches that have natural barriers. He’s given a figure of about 2,000 miles. These are the facts.
