In the Carolina low country down along the coast near Hilton Head Island, there is a rural, vibrant area called Shell Point, home to the Community Bible Church. "A lot of evangelicals are suspicious of Trump," says Dr. Carl Broggi, the church's senior pastor. "We have been played by past candidates who have made promises and then not kept them." The Community Bible Church sanctuary seats 1,800, and it fills up twice on Sundays. Who does Broggi favor in the upcoming primary? Ted Cruz.
In the Carolina up-country, Al Phillips feels similarly. "Evangelicals don't trust Trump on the key sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage, and religious-liberty issues," says Phillips, the director of missions at the Greenville Baptist Association, which includes a membership of 2,500 Southern Baptist churches that, as a denomination, universally describe themselves as evangelical. Who does Phillips favor in the upcoming primary? Marco Rubio.
The Augusta Street Church in West Columbia, South Carolina, is a small independent evangelical congregation. Its sanctuary seats about 200 and offers one service on Sundays. There, Roy Williams, a disabled U.S. Army veteran who is a deacon and treasurer at Augusta Street, says that he is "a conservative" and that he has always voted Republican--but this year, if the choice is between Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump, he'll vote for the socialist.

The first primary state that really matters is Florida, but that is shared with some other big states this year.
Super Tuesday is a big deal, but it’s all proportional. No one state really matters by itself, but the cumulative numbers can squeeze the field to two candidates.
Did they support Clinton and Obama? Would they support a republican?
I thought all the polls showed Trump with a sizable lead among evangelicals.
“”Evangelicals don’t trust Trump on the key sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage, and religious-liberty issues,”
I am glad those are their key issues. I am concerned about WWIII happening, an economy that is imploding, border security, and any of a dozen other things that will destroy the US
All Primaries held before March 15 award delegates proportionally. All Primaries held on or after March 15 are winner take all.
I think you are missing that many christians believe God provides protection based on the moral position of the country. And the choices a person makes are based on the charater of the person.
I am missing nothing
How many of those folks voted for Carter because it fit the bill?
I have concerns that are equally valid even from a Biblical stand point
Is there no low the Atlantic won't sink to?
We are ALL sinners, period. There are no saints on the earth. Period.
But he’s still ahead by double-digits.

The rest of us don't trust him on those issues, either. I've never been "Evangelical" and I don't trust Trump one bit to push for pro-life policies, traditional marriage, or Scalia-type judges.
True. There are no saints on the earth. Period
.Is it your position that there were no saints in Ephesus at the writing of the Epistle to the Ephesians?
- Ephesians 1:1 :
- Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
What is the first primary state that really matters?

The last one to push the winner over the magic number
needed to win the nomination.
I made no comment about who I trust or don’t. I merely stated what my top concerns are.
You need to chill
It is my position that there are no saints on earth, period. Exactly as I wrote.
You do understand I wrote that in the proper present tense, or do you not understand usage of the word “are?”
The Bible is pretty clear that all are sinners and all fall short of the glory of God. That’s not to say that all people are equally sinful; however, the Bible also gives many stories of pagan kings who helped and supported the establishment of the Temple at Jerusalem, the City of God.
