Evangelical broadcaster James Dobson Wednesday praised Ted Cruz's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, saying in a new television ad that the Texas senator is critical to naming more conservatives to the Supreme Court. "With Justice Scalia's death, we need a president who will defend the Constitution and nominate conservatives to the high court," Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, said in endorsing Cruz as a private citizen.
"I know Ted," Dobson said. "He's a Christian family man of the utmost integrity."

That is a good point actually. Well stated.
For what its worth, Dr. James Dobson is a psychologist and has never claimed to be a pastor or clergy. He simply is a highly respected man in Evangelical Circles because of the books he has written and the organization he founded, Focus on the Family.
The "church" hasn't really helped a lot in the war against Liberalism the past several decades.
Hey Dobson:
Get the gays and communists out of church leadership, then you can start attacking Republicans.
I think they are each politicians, each with some great strengths and each with some cracks in the foundation. Flaws and all, these two are the pick of this litter.
IF that isn’t the truth.
I know James Dobson personally and he is a man of utmost integrity and honor.
But no convincing FREEPERs any more... sadly it has turned into the TRUMPERS forum.
I disagree with your conclusion but I appreciate your reasoned argument. If all Trump supporters were more like you there would be a lot less strife and a lot more thoughtful discussions on this forum.
Imitating a TV Evangelist is blaspheming God? Thank you for your judgement.
You are so right! And the TRUMP supporters will soon know if their messiah is elected.
Pastor Ted is pathetic.
Would any one in America accept any one else living today as the Apostle Paul lived? No, of course not, least not on this forum, seemingly.
“Dobson is a good one. Thereâs no denying the fact that Dobson has a respected career and has been an important voice over the years in the Christian conservative camp.
Iâve always been a fan of Dobson.”
So have I.He’s a good man I just believe he is making a mistake endorsing Cruz.
How is that any worse than those that use both as a campaign prop?
Here is an idea: Stop using religion as a tool?
We complain she democrats give speeches in black churches, but here we have endless “pastor x endorses...” posts.
I don’t know these people. Why should I care whom they support?
With the sorry state of American Christianity, these people should be spending more time fixing their denominations rather than trying to be politicians or accessories to them.
Sounds strangely like the “ Chief Priests and Scribes”...
You are STONING my LORD!!! MOCKING HIM... is that allowed here??
Sadly I guess so...
blasphemy —> “In the name of JEEESUSSS thou shalt vote for Cruz”
I don’t appreciate using God’s or Jesus’ name just to make fun of anyone....
It didn’t look like you where trying to imitate a TV evangelist.
Wonderful.
Who has Cruz suggested, again? Sorry if Ted has made suggestions and I missed them, I probably didn’t see them in the mountain of pieces bashing Trump for actually naming some at the debate, and lies about how he would appoint his sister.
Turning on God(Trump). Is that what you mean? The man who said he NEVER has asked God to forgive him for anything. That seems more like Nimrod than to me.
Of course Christians follow Christ and not TV preachers. However, the endorsement of a respected Christian leader has influence just like the endorsement of any other respected person has.
I hate that some freepers want to equate any Christian leader with fake televangelists. Christian leaders are just as entitled to make a personal endorsement as any other leader.
When Trump supporters mock Christians and respected Christian leaders they don’t help their cause. Honestly, some of the Trump freepers are every bit as nasty to Christians as the militant atheists. When you treat us this way, is it any wonder that we are scared to death of Trump as President?
