Apologies for the delay. Someone else was going to run the threads this year but bad luck has befallen them. Try to at least get a few months going here with this segment thread.
On to a bit of business. Review your ping list membership. Let me know if you need off/on. Racing might be a nice change of pace from the political wrestling matches every day this year. Just sayin’.
Did anyone set up a FReeper Fantasy League?
Try to be back this evening to post a few news articles. (See that the #24 is leading the pack under new drivership).
Greetings, all, from Daytona Beach, Florida!
Don’t they usually run two shotgun races on the Thursday before Daytona to determine how the starting grid lines up? I’ve not heard anything about it.
I’m hoping for another wild finish.
Did you get this ping???
boogety!
Go Junior!
Race day 2016 is here.
(Just finished the movie Cars, great prelude to the green flag)
Thanks for this thread. Our household has enjoyed all of the racing, to date, in all three NASCAR series. We especially enjoyed Keselowski’s win in Vegas, yesterday. Smart racing (and overcoming a self-inflicted speeding penalty on pit row). Logano is fast and should end up in victory lane before the first 26 races are done. Speaking of Logano, delighted to see Kenseth having trouble finishing well in the first three cup races. His history of bad sportsmanship last year (purposely taking out Logano) and attacking Keselowski from behind (after a race)is messing up his “karma.” Or he is simply reaping his just desserts. He is a talented wheelman, but a poor competitor, in my view. And Dale Jr. will add another victory or two to his statistics this year. Lots of driver and crew chief talent in the field, including the rookies.
Watching qualifying, when the Jimmy Johnson wreck happened, my first thought, after it was clear the tire was not the cause, was the steering wheel came off.
Johnson’s interview convinced me even more because it was so vague. Wasn’t there something many years ago involving Ricky Craven and the steering wheel coming off? Or was that Steve Park?
Yuge News.

Who has a ping list?
So are these threads dead? I could not find one on the Richmond race.
