Ted Cruz for SCOTUS?

Posted on 02/21/2016 12:00:52 PM PST by klimeckg

If Ted Cruz can't win the run for POTUS, I think he would best serve as SCOTUS.

But will the establishment confirm him?

I'm thinking the same way you are. Cruz isn't liked in the US Senate to begin with. There will be some Democratic Senators, and maybe even some 'pubs who will use some of his edgy campaign tactics and some stuff he said on the campaign trail against him. It's important to keep in mind that the US Senate will probably have a Democratic majority unless there's a Trump sweep. So many of the backstabbers are up for re-election this year.

The other reason why not is that it might be best to keep Senator Cruz in place until his term is over, rather than put his seat up for grabs.

Trump was asked by Laura Ingraham, on her show, Friday, if he would consider

Cruz for the Supreme Court. He basically said Ted’s character flaws have been

exposed by his nasty, lying campaign and he would not consider him.

Laura tried to get him to change his mind but Trump was adamant...no way, Jose.

Cruz has no future in the senate.

What is he going to do? Shut down the government every 6 months.

No, we need some TRUE CONSERVATIVES, CONSTITUTIONAL ORIGINALISTS, in the US Senate.

As if the senate would confirm him.

I don't know, one way to remove a thorn from their paw is to ship it to the SCOTUS...

Given his view of his current legal status, I am not sure Cruz is appropriate for either the White House or the USSC.

Here are my questions for Cruz:

1. Do you agree it is clear from their actions that when the founders drafted the citizenship requirement for the various offices of government they selected the highest form of citizenship, NBC, solely for the President/Commander in Chief of our nation's army?

2. Do you agree that a short time later the USSC in Minor held the highest form of citizenship then recognized, NBC, was the result of being born within the country (or under its flag for officials)to two citizen parents?

3. Do you agree that NBC, as that term was used by the founders and not as its meaning may later have been modified by means other than a constitutional amendment, cannot be applied to one born in a foreign country to a foreign parent?

Ship what? This isn’t a question of his NBC status.

Funny thing is that this talk about Cruz not being eligible for the presidentcy is true. If the facts be brought forward, he was never legally born as a naturalized citizen as he was born in Canada after his parents were naturalized to Canadian citizenship. His father was Cuban, his mother was American, but she had not resided on American soil for over 4 years, closer to eight, which disqualifies him. It’s in the Constitution, Article V. This was the reason the dems had to get Obama born in Hawaii to get him born on US soil to an American citizen mother. Otherwise, he would not have been eligible either (and shouldn’t have been as he was born in Mombasa, Kenya two days before his listed birth in Hawaii that couldn’t have happened in early August of 1964 in a hospital that wasn’t named what was on the birth certificate until 17 years later.

If cruz really loves this country, he will exit the race and throw his support behind Trump.

Because only people who support Trump love their country.

The stupid, it burns.

Perhaps so but at least if Cruz remains my Senator he can make sure Trump stays to the right vs making deals w/ Pelosi and her ilk

Not necessarily, but cruz has no path to winning the nomination with Trump in the race. So it is a two man race between Trump and rubio. So you are ether for Trump, or the GOPe candidate rubio. Glean from that what you will.

Nice backtracking. Glad you see the inherent idiocy of your earlier statement.

Look, I know some of these things are hard for you to understand and you are just lashing out. But please stop and think it through before you respond to me. What I said is an accurate description of the current state of the race.

Don’t you think he should stay in the Senate and be a champion on the side of the “balance of power” that is supposed to be constitutional or are the DT supporters going to be shocked, shocked I tell you, when DT ignores the law?

All US citizens are eligible to become federal judges, including those born in Canada to Cuban fathers.

I like the idea; in spite of the sTrumpets parroting Trumps lies about Cruz, he is strong on the Contitution and his influence would be for life instead of just 4 or 8 years.
