McStain got a lot of crossover as well. They were both populists to some extent but the populist image of McStain was produced by the media. McStain was mainly a Wall St toady as evidenced by his rushing back to vote for TARP and sealing his fate in the election.
Trump is not a loser like McStain and he is a genuine populist, not a fake one. The downside is that Trump will be haphazard on many social issues.
