TDS seems to do that to those who succumb so deeply.
This is no Superbowl or World Series - winning as such is absolutely meaningless when what's at stake is the restoration of a *Constitutional* republic. It's been easy for many to have an emotional reaction to what Trump says, and believe *whatever* he says, rather than THINK and listen carefully elsewhere. You much rather throw in with a candidate not having a proven conservative record, who makes contradictory statements on a daily basis.
Even if Trump should win it all (though the odds are stacked against him), he has shown by the way he's conducted himself during this campaign that he lacks the character to restore the country.
When it comes down to it, it takes a proven Constitutional conservative to restore a Constitutional Republic. No other will do because they don't have it in them. Trump doesn't have the Constitution in him.
BTW, re all these christians on the threads complaining that Cruz hasn't tithed: according to Jay Sekulow, Cruz contributed hundreds of pro bono hours to the case that saved the Mohave Cross in Arizona, and did the argument before the SCOTUS. There's more than one way to give to the Lord, or “give back” as is commonly said.
Well said.

You’re almost there.
Any mourning to be done is far more likely to be done by Trump supporters after they watch their man lose to Hillary or, having gained the Oval Office, betrays them on virtually every front.
More likely than mourning which involves soul-searching, these fools will most likely reach out to rationalize their folly by blaming others for the calamity they have brought to the party and to the country.
I will do my duty out of patriotism.
Just another do as I say not as I do “conservative”.
Hey dude, how about support the winner of the Republican primary.
Well, I’m not a “dude” and Trump doesn’t care about the Constitution.
The comment was aimed at the subject of your post.
Really? Then I stand corrected.
Calling me “dude” has been in vogue on FR this morning.
Since you didn’t say anything in the post I responded to, of course I was responding to the story.
Over the years I’ve noticed a strong habit of people on Free Republic to not read the story linked, only the headline, and then make comments of ask questions that were answered in the story.
Another is to read a story and think, somehow, the original poster wrote it and launch on them personally.
All in all I’m more amused than angered this political season.
Trump disavowed David Duke.
Go find something else to go insane about.
Looks like Sasse would rather see Hillary or Bernie in the WH if (when) Trump wins the nomination - then he (and other idiots like him) will blame their dang “principles” and claim they had no other choice - while leaving America bleeding and crumpled on the side of the road.
His vote doesn’t count anyway, as long as he’s still registered in Nebraska - the state is SOLID RED, about as red as they come.
But he sure as hell better hope that Trump loses now.
Write yourself in Bennie. Nebraska will not vote Hillary and Trump will win your state anyway. This is fund raiser letter stuff.
Rene Henry Gracida, bishop emeritus of Corpus Christi, Texas, wrote:
"I honestly do not know at this time what I will do next November as I stand in the voting booth. At the present time I do not believe that I could bring myself to vote for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, if they are the Democrat and Republican nominees.
"The old axiom that one must choose the lesser of two evils is false since the more fundamental principle is that one ought never to choose evil. I have toyed with [the] idea of writing in the name of Ted Cruz, if it is possible to do so, in order to prove to God and my conscience that I did not vote for evil."
I guess you just asked Sarah Palin to lead the primary against you.
“But I cannot support Donald Trump.” — Leon Wolf
And I cannot find any reason to give a care.
I’m just surprised that he has enough egotism to think ANYONE does.
As Paul Harvey us to say, he is overrunning his headlights.
Look for Rmney to enter the race to preserve the Uniparty. Split the vote enough to have get another Clinton elected without a majority of vote. This year’s across Perot.
So, these people all realize Trump disavowed Duke, correct?
Or are they ignoring that so they can play off a sound bite?
