Chickens are funny. They hide their symptoms(like a barn cat) until they cannot since the flock is usually pretty savage at dealing with one that is ill. My flock is very small, but I’m happy to report Dixie Chicken is up and eating this morning. I was delaying the walk out to the coop to let them out, sure it would be a sad sight, but relieved for now. I’ll load her up with more meds and extra protein to help her try and fight whatever she’s got.

I’m so glad your chicken is holding her own-when the chickens on the ranch were ganging up on a weak or ill one, someone was assigned the chore of taking that hen out of the main yard and putting her in a small pen with a box-built for just that-where she could be given meds and eat in peace for a few days-it worked fairly often...
