Naps I am going to predict that, if Tump loses or the GOPe screws him over we will lose the Senate, then it won't matter who we want for the Supreme Court.

One reason I am inclined to think Grassley will try to get a moderate on the court before the election is because I think they know the Senate is likely to go democrat. If the GOPe is successful in killing of Trump's bid, even if he loses fair and square it will not matter, because his supporters will not likely get on board the Cruz train.

We must unite soon and quit killing off our own or the Republic is doomed.

Good, unite. Tell it to your candidate and his rabid intellectually comatose supporters: Stop by the florist and get a dozen very nice roses, to the confectioner for three pounds of highest quality chocolates and to anoth store to get the very nicest crawling on your knees apology card in the hope that you can stave off what might otherwise be a very bloody divorce. Promising to appoint no judges not suggested fervently by Cruz (who understands that game and the players better than Trump ever will).

Then he can enter into on other matters as many craven corrupt deals with his pals McConnell, Chewmer, Pelosi and Ryan-o as he wishes and may even get to be POTUS to do so. He can cut his own taxes and those of his buddies at will. He can generally wreck the country as he sees fit and do it in the midst of an unending stream of purple language. If we do not get the social conservatism we demand (let him play Let's Make a Deal with the Left on that first and foremost) the country is finished anyways. The sooner the better so the brain dead can get a good snootful of their own folly and actual conservatives can start all over once again but without any of the GOP baggage in the way.
