I have always been ready for “President Trump”, I just did not know who would fill that position until The Donald got into the race.

Maybe he is not Ronaldus Magnus. But he is the best by a fair margin of the crop being offered up this year. Ted Cruz apparently would have every attribute now given to The Donald, but he started off without the blessing of the Establishment Republicans, and now that they come around trying to use him as their stalking horse to force a “brokered” convention, Cruz is not playing from their stacked deck. But Cruz also lacks many of the built-in advantages that came with The Donald, not the least of which is the almost universal name recognition, and the fact that The Donald is doing this all on his own dime.

The Donald did not have the blessing of the Establishment Republicans either, but then what could they do? The Donald brought his own agenda, unencumbered by strings to other people’s money, and is beyond their control or even polite conversation. John Galt has made a stand, to come out and be counted by the people, and what a counting they give.

The Donald has an appeal that crosses just about every demographic, and includes, perhaps for the first time in their lives, millions of individuals who would not have given the Republican party the least consideration if not for the phenomenon of The Donald himself.

“The billionaire next door”, with the common touch.
