Thx for the ping. Prayers for Greeneyes, and all my gardening FR’s.
My cucuzza seeds from my saved cucuzza have all germinated, so I am thrilled. One plant goes a long way, so I am gonna have lotsa “gagoots” this year with six vines.
If anyone wants to try growing cucuzza, and wants some seeds, FReepmail me your mailing Addy, and I will oblige w/ some seeds, at least until I run out of seeds.
If you are unfamiliar with cucuzza:

My grandmother used to talk about this fantastic squash she once grew, called Tasmanian Bean. Toward her later years she’d ramble for hours, repeatedly telling how long it grew, how far it climbed, and how she wished she could find it again.
About 6 months before she died, she suddenly remembered it had another name. I don’t remember now what that name was, but unlike Tasmanian Bean, I was able to use it trace the variety’s name changes to its current name, the cucuzza.
I was not able to grow them in time for her to see, but she got very excited when I told her I’d found seeds again. Her mind was pretty much gone, so I was able to tell her many times about it.
