I’ve seen many conservatives say that if Trump ends up as our nominee we will support him, but I wonder if those pushing Trump feel the same way if it isn’t him? I’ve yet to see anyone say that (although I haven’t looked much!). What do you think?

My personal feeling is that the Trump fans will be looking to scapegoat if Trump does not win the nomination, or if he wins but loses the general.
The GOP leaders need to be real careful that they do not give his supporters something to complain about.
It is also my opinion that the nomination rightfully goes to the person who can acquire a majority of the delegates. Not a plurality. A majority. It will probably be a moot point, but if Trump has a pluarlity, but not a majority, then he is not automatically entitled to the nomination.
He would need to prove how good of a deal maker he really is in that case.
exactly. no special rules just because he thinks he deserves it based on more states, more delegates, etc. that is NOT how it’s written.
Agreed. And I suspect the trump people will take their ball and go home if he doesn’t win the nomination - no compromise at all.

How many of these Trump voters who expect all party people to fall in line gave people like Santorum crap for “falling in line” to support his fellow party member and senior senator?
