Am I losing my mind? Donald Trump gives me the creeps at times. He offends my Christianity. His persona turns me off. He can be all other the map in terms of consistent principles. But there is something inside of me that wants him to kick the stuffing out of the powers that be. Even though I am a Cruz man I could see myself voting for the guy. Am I losing my mind?
I’m not planning on stoning the man, I just won’t vote for him.
It’s not just you - but we’ll need to swear you in before showing you the secret handshake.
I’ve enjoyed watching Trump upset various applecarts since I started paying attention. I think Cruz would be a much better president, and I think that if he makes president, Trump will be a keen disappointment to his current supporters — however, I can’t deny the appeal of watching liberals of all stripes tear their hair out over Trump’s craze statements, or over the fact that he’s doing so well.
I think most votes for Trump are based more on rage than logic, and I share that rage so somewhat get the appeal. I will not vote for Trump in the primary, and if he’s the Republican candidate he’ll get my vote as the lesser evil, not because I am enthused about having him as president. But I still get where you’re coming from.
Actually to your question, yes, I will sleep well because I will not have voted for Hillary. It will be the class of people that believe they are entitled to the goods of others. Only when we change hearts and minds will our country change. Our leaders are merely an image of who we are as a people.
Legality does not = morality.
You speak of the problem that many of us have.
Until recently, I was torn between Trump and Cruz. Seeing the reactions on both the left and right against Trump solidifies my support for Trump. Anybody that can piss everybody off can’t be all bad. Besides, running the country like a business may not be a bad idea. What they are doing to it now is not working that great.
That's the Donald Trump we'll see as President.
Well said, Jim.
Its your choice.
I'm reading some great stuff on this thread. Some thoughful stuff.
I didn't have high hopes for this thread when I clicked on it, but I think I've changed my mind...
20% chance that Trump is a political Vince the Sham-wow Guy.
Place your bets, then wait until January of 2017.
80% eh?
I could live with that.
To my mind, that's a better percentage than any other candidate can offer.
It's not even close.
LOL!
Donald Trump does not think PP is wonderful. He said parts of it are good and he will keep those parts but he wants them out of the abortion business. I happen to agree with that.
I am a DES daughter. I had little money in times past, my husband abandoned his son and me, and I was entirely on my own. If were not for PP, I would have died from cervical cancer, they caught it early enough to save my life, when I went in for an exam because I was having problems. If not for them, my young son would have been raised by some very dysfunctional people. So yes, there is good in PP.
Whether you like it or not, if you will open your eyes to see, Trump has exposed Cruz for the fraud and the liar that he is, not to mention that a Cruz presidency brings a very poison pill with it, the complete and utter forever destruction of Article 2,1,5 of our constitution. Never, has there been a president as evil as Obama, and we should be closing this door so tight that it never happens again. We should affirm that Article 2,1,5 still stands, and natural born means what it has always meant. Instead we “conservatives” would fling it open because we have been tricked into believing that only Cruz can save us, dooming our future generations to who knows what kind of ruler over them, who have no connection to this country or its traditions.
I do not believe this is the will of God, and I do not believe He has raised Cruz up at all for such a purpose.
Christ forbids us not to be deceived. And so my friend, you and I most both look very carefully at the candidates, one of them WILL rule over us. Most of them will destroy us. One candidate is very different from all of the rest.
By the way, I do understand, I could not bring myself to vote for Romney. He is a leader in a blasphemous cult, and I truly believed that not only would he continue every evil thing that Obama has done, but dignify and elevate a pseudo-Christian cult that would confuse people searching for the true God and true answers, and do even greater harm than Obama could ever do.
Not God’s heros are not perfect men and women. Please keep that in mind. And please, ask yourself why are all the forces of evil and of Hell arrayed against Donald Trump?
Remember too, Samson was a perfectly terrible sinner, yet still, God still gave him the grace of saving Israel.
He doesn’t offend my Christianity
He seems to offend northern Christians the most
Trump is also appealing on a policy level...
I think it's closer to 50-50, but Hillary and The Bern are both worse than Vince...
A priest once told us that anger is a righteous, God-given emotion that enables us to right wrongs.
I hear ya man. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him but every time he wins big part of me wants to stand up and cheer to the distant sound of liberal heads exploding.
Only if you believe that Trump isn't just telling people what they want to hear just to get elected.
There is no evidence or proof that Trump will follow through on any of his promises. However there is ample proof that he will break his campaign promises. Especially in regard to illegal immigration.
I don’t see that the country is NOT going to end up in worse condition no matter who wins the nomination.
I think I’ll post a vanity. Everyone else is.
