They said on the news this afternoon that there was an avalanche at Loveland Pass. Is this true? We have friends skiing during spring break who were trying to head back to Texas today. Other friends are in Florida and trying to figure out how to get back from there since I-10 is closed due to flooding at the Texas/Louisiana line area. All this global warming is making travel difficult during spring break.
Worst thing about the flooded area is that we have a local crawfish festival this weekend and we needed those Louisiana crawfish yesterday!
With all this snow I would not doubt that there was an avalanche at Loveland Pass, but have not been watching local news. I am about 15 miles NE of Winter Park, but on the other side of the continental divide. I will post to you if I hear anything.
Here is the snow total for many areas in the 2003 March Storm. I am in Gilpin County so you can see how hard we got hit.

Sorry, I posted to my reply to you...
I just caught the Denver 850 KOA radio traffic report. They described the driving conditions as Brutal. Crashes all over. Did not hear anything about an avalanche at Loveland Pass, but a crash at Eisenhower Tunnel (Same Area) that sounded like it caused road closure for a time.
