I am not a big fan of Copeland, but I do like Appalachian Spring.

This is in a fine tradition of “lifting” traditional melodies and making them shine in a new setting, a practice that was used by Brahms, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and other Greats.

He is an acquired taste. Another of my favorites is Rachmaninoff piano concerto 2. What say you?
