On Rotten Tomatoes the movie is in splat territory.

I’ll go watch it only because part of it was filmed on the campus of Michigan State University, and some of the extras in the party scene are friends of mine.

I’ve heard it’s very heavy, dour and totally devoid of humor and enjoyment.
Meanwhile Marvel is making money hand over fist with Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy where a main character is a talking raccoon with a gun. Go figure.

Look, we have 30 years of decent pre-Jon Byrne Silver Age/Bronze Age Justice League and World’s Finest comics to get a decent basic story line, INCLUDING a few Batman vs. Superman stories.

Marvel wasn’t shy about recycling its best comic book stories for the big screen, DC/Warner shouldn’t either.

Skipping to the end was a mistake. Batman and Superman fighting only has meaning when there’s a friendship dying. Still more proof, DC just isn’t as good at this as Marvel.

Batman cannot defeat Superman so there is a plot flaw.

I am waiting for one of them to be classified as queer.

I don’t know the plot so maybe missing something.

But since Batman and Superman are good guys, fighting the criminals, how can they be fighting against each other? They are the good guys on the same side Of justice.

DC still hasn’t figured out the key to Marvel’s successful formula (hiring good, legitimate film directors and not simply action film directors). You hire cheesy action film directors all they are going to give you is a cheesy action film, no matter how big the special effects budget, or how pricey the star power is.

Man of steel was awful. The last batman was awful. Combining the two just exponentially increases awfulness. I haven’t seen it and won’t but in today’s hyper PC world I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised they turn out to be gay lovers who go around punishing Christian bakeries.

Haven’t been to the movies since The Farce Awakens. I’ll take my 10 year to this one.

*raises hand*

Ahem, let me remind you about Kryptonite. Your argument is invalid.

2½ hours?

Wonder why no Justice League movie, for all the effort. I guess that would be a conflict of interest for Disney; they don’t want a DC “competitor” to the Avengers movies?

Batman, human with no super powers only gadgets and a butler, ridiculous.

Not interested in Deadpool but I have enjoyed the others.

Like you said the humor is part of it. Clever one liners can not carry a movie but they are the salt that keeps the plot from feeling flat.

Marvel movies have always been better than DC

Ahem, let me remind you that Kryptonite never defeats Superman. It merely weakens him until he gets away from it - which happens every single time it’s used. Your argument is invalid.

“Marvel wasn’t shy about recycling its best comic book stories for the big screen, DC/Warner shouldn’t either.”

They did that pretty well with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The third one, not so much, but they were on the right track for a while.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but from what I understand, Batman is not happy that Superman trashed the city during his fight with the Krypton criminals led by General Zod.

I guess you can't knock down a dozen skyscrapers and not expect a few civilian casualties in the process.
