I don't know if the NE is true or not but I would not be surprised one bit if some, most or all of it is. I would say the lure of power, money and sex provide the biggest temptations to men in positions to take advantage of and abuse those things. Ted Cruz has already made some awfully poor decisions in regards to power and money that contradict his Christian image, so why would sex be any different?

I've seen many Ted Cruz supporters take to defending their guy in various ways against this story, including calling the source (NE) into question. That is certainly a legitimate defense.

Maybe I've missed it but what I haven't seen from Cruz supporters is a defense of "Impossible! Ted Cruz would NEVER do that!" That's because even Cruz supporters are (subconsciously) afraid that there might some truth to this story since it becomes more obvious every day that he is not quite the guy we were sold.

Indeed. The fact that he said “Donald Trump” a zillion times in his press conference about allegations of HIS infidelity, seems very sneaky and indicative that he’s not really being on the level. An innocent person would not have responded the way Ted did, in my opinion.

Last night I was ready to write the whole thing off as BS, but Ted’s flailing response and slow-motion, rat-copulation-centric mental breakdown are making me wonder.

What we haven't seen yet is Cruz demanding that Enquirer retract this supposedly false story or face a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Gawker just lost one to Hulk Hogan and there was video evidence of that! The longer Cruz doesn't threaten legal action against the Enquirer the more it seems that he thinks the Enquirer has the goods and is holding it back...for now.

No one in the D.C. swamp is decent. They aren’t allowed in the door unless they are already compromised or can be blackmailed in some way over the skeletons in their CIA files. This is how the game is played. The D.C. kingmakers have a file ready to go on everyone ready to play. Play by their rules, get out or get outed. Simple.

Ted has been fishwrappered. Blaming Trump was all he could do along with a categorical denial? Ted’s denial must convince his followers or he is done. He can’t pull a Clinton and expect it to work for him, while professing his Christianity.

GOPe wants Trump in political cemetary and want Cruz in the political hospital. CREATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CAN GIVE US THE SOLUTION. Kasich. This why Kung Fu Konfetti Kasich is still with us. The son of a mailman who can cross the aisle, give an olive branch to the Demoncrats and keep the Congressional check book in the hands of the squishy moderate publicans.

Alinsky rule RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this
because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its
commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

Truth doesn’t matter. It is the seriousness of the charge as democrats say.

I have to admit, He’s starting to look very GOPish.

I don’t know if any of this infidelity stuff is true; but the more I see of Cruz, the more he seems to still be this guy; and I’m disappointed:

Or maybe it's because I'm not the only Cruz voter who is more interested in his voting record than his personal life. Plus a lot of Cruz supporters are Christian, who by definition reject the idea that anyone is "without sin." Powerful men fall into sexual sin all the time, and I know of no reason to think Cruz is immune to that.

OTOH, I've been around long enough to know that "guilty until proven innocent" is that way to go in most cases, and that "where there's smoke, there's fire," when said by a political enemy, is generally spin with no facts behind it. Political figures who fool around generally get caught with pretty compelling evidence as soon as someone makes a serious effort to get it.

Reporters and others have been looking for evidence that Cruz has fooled around since he was running for Senator, and no one's found anything solid yet. Rumors have been flying for the past few months, and still there's no credible evidence. That, to my mind, puts the odds in Cruz's favor.

Unlike Trump supporters, who proudly claim yeah, the Donald bedded dozens of women, even married ones, and is proud of it.

That is evident in the campaign slogan TrusTed, totally focused on Cruz and his attributes. If he lied, he is finished since it's all about him. Trump's slogan is Make America Great Again. If he fails, he is fired, since it is all about results.

There is no perfect man who is electable running for public office. Jesus would never, today be elected President. Meanwhile, while this foolishness continues, we are not discussing the country's problems.
