I have toyed the idea of leaving as well but stick it out and just avoid any thread that has to do with Trump or Cruz when I can. It is like one of those shows Real Housewives of Anywhere.

Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny is a fine book. It will also be part of my library and I hope my son will read it...

I agree, 'Liberty & Tyranny' is a good starter book for ages as young as 6th grade, but if your looking for constitutional liberty in action, don't waste your money on Levin's ‘liberty amendments’ book. That one is wrought with error that actually takes away liberty. There are a couple of good constitutional amendments, such as repealing the 17th amendment and congressional term limits, but when Levin wades into the area of constitutional economics & citizenship, he is utterly ignorant.

With all of the R vs. R fighting, the only hope might be for Bernie to win the elected delegate count but have Hillary steal it with DNCe super-delegates leaving the Dems as shattered as the GOP is. It might be interesting to start 2020 with two essentially new parties.

I've thought of leaving, briefly.

There is almost nothing but carnage, insanity, and cult of personality hero worship here anymore. Never seen anything like it.

But, I've been here for over a decade and a half. That's too much of an investment to throw away over temporary insanity.

After the "Trump Hangover", FreeRepublic will return to normal. Some former Trump supporters will leave the site in shame, some will stick around. We'll all lick our wounds, and band back together to rail against the Hillary Clinton presidential administration.

Thank you for that advice. I was considering purchasing several more of his books, even though I am a Trump supporter.

I’ve been around for at least four, maybe five, campaigns. This one is no different than any other. The stakes are high.

Thanks for the perspective, LS.

Some people can't seem to keep a sense of it.

I think it's pretty easy to guess what candidate "jstaff" supported.

Rather than the animating debate we are engaged in on this forum (albeit somewhat lopsided at this point) I'm sure "jstaff" will be able to find a Ted Cruz echo chamber somewhere out there that suits his/her needs, where nobody argues, and it's all just sunshine and rainbows...

Throughout most of human history, leaders were decided by the sword. This cat scratching here on FR is minor.

If it were face to face, chances are we'd be closer to trial by combat.

Yup, sadly so.
