Amazingly, DPS gets about the same amount per pupil as my son’s private school tuition. Where 27% of the school’s juniors are National Merit Semifinalists.
Just think of what DPS could do if the administration hired competent teachers and didn’t demand kickbacks at every turn.
Most of the monies spent per pupil in DPS and other urban systems are used to pay the outrageous pensions that the former teachers draw.
