Sucking out the brains of a living being deserves some type of punishment, doesn’t it? Are you ok with that?
Or do you simply want to look the other way? If that is the case, you deserve no respect from anyone.
If every candidate focused on AMERICAN issues, we would all be better off.
Too many people focus on putting us in a category instead of simply developing policies which will benefit all.

Would you punish the mother if she killed the infant the day after it was born or isn't she responsible then either?
Politics is the art of the possible, and given the imperfection of human nature, one cannot criminalize everything.
The last time all the apparently unjust were wiped out, it didn’t work out all that well, as several people were allowed on the ark who had problems.
If you really want to get to the root of the problem, you need to change people’s hearts so that they embrace a healthy sexuality.

Let’s also not forget that the killing of a pregnant mother is a double homicide.
I think the argument is that performing an abortion should be illegal, not having one performed on you.
In an abortion, a woman has violence done to her (even if she solicits and pays for it) a child is tortured and killed in the act of the abortion. So before the law intervenes violence is done to two people. Therefore the woman does not suffer alone. If we have a law with penalties and only the woman faces sanctions then you might argue that she suffers alone with respect to the operation of law. Thus, almost anyone who is pro-life would like to see legal sanctions against the provider. Is this what you mean in saying that everyone agrees that the woman should not suffer alone (I assume you meant suffering with respect to legal consequences), I agree. In other crimes where there are two active lawbreakers (e.g., drug dealer and drug purchaser) it is not considered immoral or cruel that both parties face some kind of legal penalty. The penalty need not be equal for the two parties. Laws can recognize different levels of culpability in the illegal act and have differing penalties based on degree of culpability.
I just have a rule of law problem if we reach a point where abortion becomes illegal and the provider faces legal sanctions but the customer does not.
I do not agree with forced sterilization except in extreme cases. When women are not paid to have children and men are not free to impregnate women with no responsibility, the number of “unwanted” children will drop quickly. AND when everyone who wants to eat, has to work. Gov bennies combined with the promotion of a free for all sexual immorality has created this problem.

I think the threat of punishment for the crime of abortion might make women think twice about this; I think further if the father is pushing it or is involved in this crime in anyway, he should be punished too.
(By the way, punishment for this IS going to happen in the hereafter!)

You could not be further from the truth.
The President’s job is to pursue the laws enacted by Congress.
He does not ‘fix’ anything, but executes.
Most problems begin with some stupid federally-enacted law or bureaucratic degree anyway, so what you propose is to make law or decrees then have the govt ‘fix’ the mess they made themselves?

A pro-lifer is not by definition a pro-lifer if it condones murder of an unborn or born infant.
Condoning includes not executing the law for murder.
It seems that fact is lost on many on FR and by Cruz and Kasich and (sad to say) Trump.
Following the logic now, women who engage in prostitution should not be arrested.
