"A man who cares about nothing more than his personal safety is a miserable creature, who has no chance of being free unless made and kept by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill 1862

You will not survive the coming civil war on your own. If you plan only to save yourself, you will lose both your life and your country. Preppers unite and network here. Our strength is in our numbers, in our readiness to come to each other's aid. Beat the fear of loss, the fear of being spied on and the fear of false accusation. The persistent, wide-spread and open exercise of disaster preparedness and defense training (in disregard of what so-called emergency experts promise to offer) will deter tyrannical lawlessness and fortify your community, your country against invasion. The Republic needs you effective, bravely motivated by reason, not fueled by emotional fear or anger.

My name is Robert Neville. If you are out there, if anyone is out there, I can provide food. I can provide shelter. I can provide security. If there's anybody out there, anybody, please. You are not alone.

I won't go underground.

Display your defense training here once a month and organize with other FReepers. Keep buying guns and ammo. Start asking your neighbors if they would like to come to the shooting range with you. Start talking with them about civilian alert and surveillance systems you can put in place to come to each other's aid and upload any confrontations to the internet to be viewed by the public.

RULES:

- Do not publish personal information such as last names, email addresses, phone numbers, license plates, home addresses, etc. Use private email to arrange meetings with other members. Posting first name and general location is acceptable.

- This is not a jokes board. For the love of God, for the sake of self defense rights, this is not the time or place to joke about guns. Please disarm gun haters by contributing to this monthly thread with all seriousness, safety and sobriety. Do not horseplay with guns.

- Do not use targets that could be perceived by viewers as a threat to a living person or group.

- One month recent photo only. Please try to date stamp for the record. - Selfies are good. Larger group photos are better and send a stronger message.

- If you want to keep your identity or specific weapon make unknown, then only photograph your target results noting distance and general weapon type - rifle, handgun, bow and arrow, sling shot, etc. If you want your photos scrubbed or photoshopped to prevent tracking, email them to me and I will print screen copy them and delete the originals. If you can not upload pictures and videos, email them to FReeper Display of Arms and Bearers @ ConservativeImage.com (no spaces) and I will host them for you.

- Guns are for defense only. Civilians do not take law into their own hands. A deadly weapon may only be used to prevent the loss of life, liberty or property or for the purposes of target practice or hunting.

Right, so I've been working on this new concealable 9mm. Brand new, never fired. During my first practice it wasn't even hitting the target mount. After a few more tries at different ranges I was convinced there was something wrong with it. Online forums confirmed other users were finding this model shoots low and to the left. This month I was determined to resolve the problem because I want to use it as my ccw.

7 shots. No good. A strange sort of trip to the south west. After test firing again I had to ask the range officer nearby to try it and prove to me the problem was hardware. If this keeps up there's no guarantee I'll hit a target when I need to. We adjusted the sites to their extremes and he pointed out how incorrect trigger finger placement can unintentionally pull you off target.

7 shots. Better. You can see the improvement when I use a slow going aim - squeeze, aim - squeeze, aim - bang technique. 6 in an inch and one outlier to the 7 O'clock position where I went too fast. This wasn't a problem with my full size Ruger. That one gave me effortless results at 20 feet. So my conclusion is that this smaller sports car is harder to control than the boat and I was getting too excited about driving it between the aim - squeeze - fire points. This is a great opportunity to slow down and really focus on the tiny details in technique. Looking forward to moving that target back to 20.

Where's the safety? Don't ask.

Smaller guns are always harder to shoot, but it’s amazing how accurate you can get with a laser.

Most people who shoot low and left are anticipating recoil and pushing the pistol forward and down as they squeexe the trigger. Relax the hand while maintaining grip, and let the shot break as you squeeze the trigger rather than anticipate it. You will come back on target almost every time.

LC9S? I love mine. I can shoot it almost as well as my XD 40. Having small hands helps, with the extended floor plate I have all three fingers on the grip. Buddy of mine is NFL lineman size and my hand on the LC9S looks like his on a 1911.

I know! That’s why I put one on this 9mm. Lasers are like auto-aim, but I don’t think they’re dependable in daylight. Even my green one disappears. So I’m working on using the sights.

Anticipation definitely going on. Will add relaxing naturally to the routine. Thanks! It’s interesting to see how this smaller gun has a different effect on me than the full size.

You expect more felt recoil from a smaller and lighter pistol so you have more of a tendency to compensate for recoil. Same grip, squeeze, shot break give the same results, given good aim, with any pistol

Thumb Placement Multiple Choice:

A:

B:

hint: I was using "B". "B", for bad results.

If that’s the LC9S the factory 9-round mag will help a lot with the grip. I bought two 9-round mags and it is my carry gun now. Shoots extremely well...almost as good as my CZ which is perfect...just too big to carry all the time.
