When i try to direct my web browser to freerepublic.com on my mobile device...it comes up “dns cannot be reached”

I hand enter (as opposed to using browser autofill history) freerepublic.com and same thing but i get an option to access a stored page from google.

I go to that old stored page and it goves me the option of logging in and i enter my username and password....viola i am cruising freerepublic.

This started today and I have no idea why its doing it.

You’ll need to change your router’s DNS settings to point to the OpenDNS servers - 208.67.222.222

DNS is sort of like a phone book of website names to computer addresses. Each ISP maintains their own DNS servers but it sounds like their names are wrong - if you setup your router to use OpenDNS’ servers instead you’ll get the right number again (or wait until frontier can fix it on their end)

I have been having troubles since yesterday, my provider is saying the issue isn’t on their end but when I try on another provider it is working fine.

I don’t know what the problem is.

Deffo a DNS issue....I tend to use Google’s generic DNS 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 but those haven’t been FRiendly today. Generic TW DNS works on tablet and phone.

Anyone else in Florida, Texas or Kalifornia experiencing the same?

My Florida T-Mobile phone can no longer find FreeRepublic.com this week--if that helps.

Frontier could not care if you are viewing free republic or monkey porn.

It’s probably your set up.

The problem seems to be in Florida, Texas and Kalifornia. At least from all I’m seeing. Verizon changed to Frontier on April 1st. Bad April Fools joke!

My previous locale went from Verizon to Frontier (DSL). I immediately noticed a drop in service speeds. I heard at the time that Frontier ran a leaner bandwidth profile than Verizon. Peak times really sucked. I’m

Try a different DNS server (replace Frontier’s default one)...4.2.2.2 is working fine for me.

They have software you can download.

Change the dns on your router to the opening addresses.

Frontier has been horrible. I still can’t open a tkt because they don’t have my account info yet.

I’m on Frontier since the first, was on FR fine earlier, and am now getting reroute to search.frontier.com. I’ll try the IP address method when I get home.

My computer at work was also blocked, there is some kind of outage with the DNS servers that’s sporadic, it’s not Frontier.

But yes, Frontier sucks Donkey b@lls based on my experience so far with them.

I don’t know, it seems like an attack on freerepublic, I can’t explain it.

Why are they so afraid of this site?

Hopefully the connection is fixed. Is it because this site is too Trump friendly?

I hate this politics of the internet, why can’t we get along?

If you run a Mac, follow these instructions. I was locked out by Century Link.

Change your DNS Settings to
208.67.222.222
and
208.67.220.220

On a Mac (I’m not a PC guy)
- Pull down the Apple icon, upper right
- Choose System Preferences
- Choose Network
- Choose Advanced
- Choose DNS tab
- Below the DNS Servers window, click the plus sign
- Enter 208.67.222.222
- press return
- Enter 208.67.220.220
- Click ok
- Click Apply

FR should be working

The suggestion above seems like a good temporary solution, write this down and try it:
