Assume you are a U. S. Attorney, and you have been handed the FBI case file on Hillary Clinton. Even if you are conscientitous and believe in the Rule of Law, just what, exactly, has been dumped in your lap?
You are expected to prosecute a woman who has almost unlimited financial resources, will have at her beck and call the best high-powered liberal lawyers in the country to defend her, and will be shielded publicly at all times by a partisan media. Getting all of her admirers off the jury panel will be a huge challenge, especially in front of a District Court Judge who might have been appointed by her husband, or who is looking at an appointment to the Court of Appeals from the next President Clinton. And you know you do not have the full support of your boss, Loretta Lynch, or her boss, the current president. Finally, Clinton enemies have a history of unfortunate accidents or suicides.
It’s highly unlikely charges will be filed, and if they were, getting a fair trial and a conviction is not a done deal.
