It would seem to me that the senate said that they needed to do the resolution because Mccain was born outside the US. So that would seem to not bode well for Cruz. But that’s the senate and not the USSC.

There’s two interpretations I can see regarding the senate doing a resolution. One is it is an interpretation of the constitution and the responsibility of the USSC or the other, the senate is clarifying the intent of congress and they have the power to do that?
I welcome some opinions that have more knowledge of this subject that I do. And that could be a lot of people. LOL
