I think the real absurdity is that NO ONE in the Republican universe has been above the call and challenge of being a “true conservative”

I have no problem with people challenging whether Cruz is a true conservative.

I think the evidence is quite good for him.

But what is clearly happening here at FR is now that Trump is beyond that challenge.

It is unacceptable to argue that Trump is not conservative.

That is absurd. Trump realized he was conservative in June. He continues to say things that are not conservative.

He has made as public target #1 the most conservative member of the US congress.

The trashing of Cruz was never necessary. People should be explaining why Trump is conservative not engaging in ad hominem attacks on Cruz.

Hillary is completely of the hook here thus far.

You do not have the faintest clue what a ‘true conservative’ is. NO ‘true conservative’ would ever subvert our Constitution. EVER!!!

As a Trump supporter I have yet to go nasty on someone not sharing my point of view. It seems a destructive.

I also believe Cruz is the most conservative in this race. The problem is that “true” conservatives are a minority in this country. If Cruz is the nominee, he will get my undivided support in the general election.

I also know that Trump isn’t a “true” or “pure” conservative. On the issues he’s been running on since last June, he is sufficient conservative. For me, the border is issue number one.

Cruz was the first to declare running for the presidency. I was excited when he first announced. I believe if Cruz made immigration his top issue at that time, if he took the lead role on that issue, he’d be the front runner today. He did not and handed the leadership role to Trump who did.

The border and the economy are linked and I believe Trump is the best guy to get that done.

They can’t explain that Trump is conservative so instead of saying nothing they resort to ad hominems against Cruz or Cruz supporters.
