If a transgender who is in drag wearing make up and goes to the ladies room and sits down to pee, who would ever know? No doubt they have done it since the flush toilet had been invented.
what would cause a stir is a man in drag going into the mens room!
Same goes for a butch female going in the mens room, although it would have to use a stall to pee in.

We have stuff WAY more important on who goes pee where in public.
How about when the same transgender person enters the women’s locker room to change clothes at the middle school or high school? This isn’t just about access to bathrooms with stalls, its about complete access to women’s facilities including locker rooms.
I have a 12 year old daughter and I surely don’t want her to be subjected to changing clothes at school in a locker room with guys. Nor do I want my wife subjected to showering and changing clothes at her gym with men.
You are correct I can’t imagine how I would know whether a transgender was in the next CLOSED STALL if they were dressed and made up like a female? It is not my practice to peer through the cracks to check out the person in the stall.
I wondering how a female could use a urinal in a male restroom. That sounds like a Monty Python trick.
I do think transgenders have no place in a dressing room/shower intended for females. But the question is in regard to bathrooms.
Terrible things have have befallen unattended children even with the appropriate gender in the restroom. And again no responsible adult should let any child boy or girl to go unaccompanied into a public restroom.
