Tom Brady's four-game suspension reinstated by appeals court
Yahoo Sports ^ | 4/25 | Eric Edholm

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension is — for now — back on, per Reuters. The Second Circuit court has ruled in favor of the NFL, ordering the district court and The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit overturned last year’s ruling by U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman to to enforce that Brady miss the first quarter of the 2016 season.

NFL commissioner still holds the right to rescind the four-game punishment and declined to say last week if he'd enforce Brady’s suspension this season if the appeal was won, as it was. A fine is also possible, per Goodell's discretion, but many believe that Brady will have to sit out the four games.

"Is this satire?"

No, and Jeff Kuhner ( 680 am WRKO Boston ) is all over it and noted, Brady is a Trump Supporter, This is politically motivated in a PC world the Pat's ( and Donald ) win and the NFL can't have that.

Just means he’ll be fresher come playoff time.

Yep. And Garappolo is a pretty danged good quarterback.

Take the suspension, stop the madness and end this Deflategate BS. Time to get back to football.

In the long-run it’s better for the Patriots to prepare Garappolo to take over once Brady leaves.

And as great as Brady has been, the Patriots aren’t sentimental. They would rather cut Brady than let Grappolo get away, like Osweiler.

Next, regarding your tagline - I’ve always thought Jeb would be waiting in the wings to come out from (seemingly) nowhere to get the nod.

Derailing the thread but Bush said all along that he was willing to lose the primary to win the general election. We scoffed, lose the primary and there is no general election for you! Well with all this talk of engineering a contested convention all I can think is "oh man, that plan is actually playing out."

How sad that this Deflategate issue has gone through the courts and the State Department hasn’t fully released all of Hillary’s emails. And she’s been out of office for over 3 years.

It isn't just that. The NFL has real issues such as players who are losing their mental capacities at an early age. They've got players whose bad behaviors are so bad they can't or won't bring them under control. They run the risk of ruining the game in the pursuit of safety and political correctness.

Tom Brady is not the one who is suffering from "deflated balls". (sorry, my bad <^..^>)

Brady’s destroyed his cell phone shortly before meeting with NFL investigators, even though he knew they wanted access to the contents of his text messages. Brady said it was normal practice to destroy his cell phone every so often, to lessen the chance of private information getting out. Not very believable, IMO.

didn’t brady just restructure his salary to some ridiculously low number to help the salary cap?
so losing 4 game checks at a low rate will not cost him so much and he’ll get it back later. good financial planning anyway.

The judges didn’t think that was credible either. That’s the reason why the suspension was overturned, at least in part.

Innocent till proven guilty. What ever became of that arcane concept?

Is this a decision to please one group? Did politics enter the decision? This decision offends my sense of American justice, but I suppose I am getting too old to remember and admire what we once stood for

There is a lot of shame here to go around.

Now the Pats will get the chance to evaluate if Garoppolo truly is the heir apparent.

Garappolo was a smart choice by the Pats a couple of years ago. The heir apparent.

I wanted my hometown Browns to draft him or Bridgewater in 2014. Of course, the geniuses running the draft got Johnny Football instead.

Perhaps this was what the Patriots wanted all along, for the suspension to occur this year when Garoppolo had another year under his belt.

Brady should back off his stand and accept 1-2 games

Not if he was innocent of the accusation. If that, he should stand his ground and never cave.

Just another example of how the cover-up is often worse than the crime.
