the lettuce would have been a nono for Mo because my Dad grew it in his own garden...HIMSELF..no peon staff members or famous gardeners involved..
In high school I also took a Thermos of homemade soup in the wintertime..
Gee I’m sure there was something suspicious in that soup..
We had fresh bread every day from the bakery in town except the weekends..so on Mondays we would take a meat pie that Mom had made Sunday night..all meat and veggies from Dad’s garden..the mutton was ours too..slaughtered by Dad..
MO would scream about that...no Govt control...
and I wasn’t fat...none of us were...a fat kid was a rare sight at my school of well fed kids...
If MO was really interested in getting fat kids less fat she would insist they move at school...how about running around the school yard a few dozen times every day ???

we had PE just about every day and everyone played sports and we played tag or “rounders” or leap frog at recess..
That calls for doubling the funding!
