Actually, I think that Sanders is a "true believer" who really believes that a utopia in which everyone has everything they need and no one has to work is possible. In other words, he is not that bright. Hillary, OTOH, is smart enough to know that a socialist utopia is impossible, but supporting such an impossibility is a path to power for her.
