First off I don't believe waiting for the convention to announce the choice makes much sense. Way too much work to be done to wait around.
Putting personal opinion aside the best candidate for VP is Rubio. A few reasons here.
First choosing a black VP to swing the black vote. We have past experience on this, Mike Steele when he ran as senator and more recent with Bernie and Hillary. Even though our hearts would like to see the black vote swing it is entrenched and continues to vote Hillary. The risk to benefit is not a good one
On Rubio and his natural born citizenship, who cares it would be a distraction for the Democrats, they would insult some of their supporters and even if the lawsuit won by then the election would be over and Trump would be president.
On a women as VP. Do this if you want to make the election to be entirely about women, diminish Trumps issues, take a chance that an unknown will mess up, take Melania out of the spotlight and give Chris Matthews something else to think about.
Now Trump and Christie have a good look together but I dont see how he helps expand his voting block.
On Rubio and amnesty. Trump could appoint Vicenti Fox as his VP and still win on that issue.
On Cruz, this would help heal wounds in the party but brings nothing else not sure this is enough, and Rubio would do the same.
Rand Pauls name came up and was my first pick for President for me but he underperformed big time in the spotlight and trump already owns one of his major issues the wars in the middle east.
Kasich gives him help in Ohio and wont hurt Trump in the election, will help in governing, but offers nothing else.
Back to Rubio, first I am not saying I agree with all his policies, I dont, but this is about winning and stopping Hillary. Having Rubio on board negates all the negative publicity the republican party put out on Trump, putting it out as only politics the real Trump is (right your narrative here). The Hispanics who do swing vote are inclined to rethink their vote. Rubio has performed well in the spotlight no surprises. This could be a huge shift for Trump with Hispanics. Also Rubio has ties to Mormons which can be helpful. Then Trump can focus on whats left, like women voting issues; jobs, safety and and end to war and affordable healthcare. And how Hillary has not.
Rand Paul would bring more to the table than Rubio. And if something happens to Trump, its establishment open borders, TPP, etc
SAY NO TRUMP
Kasich would be horrible and would undermine Trump at every turn. He doesn’t agree with him on anything. First time they put a mike in his mug he’d say “No, of course we won’t build a wall. I won’t let Trump do that.
And the Muslim thing? No, of course not.”
I like Newt would be great if Trump was running against Winston Churchill. We are not headed into an intellectual battle now, but rather one of perception.
Mary Fallin, Republican Governor of Oklahoma.
Marco Rubio brings absolutely nothing to the table. Marco Rubio could not even win his home stat of Florida!
Not elegible.
Cruz lost me when he select the GOPe bitch, now you have Trump selecting a GOPe clown.
Marco Rubio brings absolutely nothing to the table. Marco Rubio could not even win his home state of Florida!
Besides that, Kasich is a liberal on almost all issues. Go with Rubio....he could be mentored, and he's a reliable conservative except for wanting productive long-time illegals to stay. Kasich, on the other hand, applauds all aspects of the invasion of the US.

Not sure why it hurts to wait until the convention. Almost all past nominees announce their choice at the convention, and then the convention ratifies that selection. Why would it make a big difference to announce someone now?
Okay I'll bite, who is she?
Well he did 47%, beat Trump by 10, and won for governor in 2014 by 30 points.
Hard to be much better than that.
Even Democrats in California don’t win by that much LOL
The best choice for VP should be a very conservative person from California, in order to force the left to spend much more money than they planned to spend from within California.
Black vote ain’t swingin’ 98% for Obama says all one needs to say
Stop with the racial politics. Hasn’t it gotten us in enough trouble as it is?
No. Not Rubio!
I like some things about Rubio and he could help the ticket yes, but he messed up with his immigration ideas — which did not...and will not... sell with most voters.
(Also, he’s ineligible. VP’s have to meet the same qualifications as Presidents, per our Constitution.)
Dr. Carson impressed a lot of voters, he seemed pretty honest and that’s something the public is desperately seeking after 8 years of Obama/Hillary/Kerry/and Kompany. I think Rick Santorum could add a lot of reassurance to the ticket and should be considered, too.
Kasich’s Dem opponent for Gov was SO BAD he was a joke. The Dems were over-confident and didn’t fully vet their guy. Consider that Kasich ONLY beat Trump by 10%, and that was just the ‘pubs voting. There would be no problem getting most of those Kasich votes to go Trump in Nov, without Kasich on the ticket.
I can’t stand Kasich and don’t want him anywhere near the white house.
So you lose and election the world falls apart around you because you have a legal disagreement on the definition of what natural born is. And your okay with that.
My point is all about winning the election. Let the judges figure the rest if it isn’t legal so be it and if it is then we know that as well. It was obvious to me Cruz was not natural born but it is not so obvious with Rubio since he was born in America. The point still remains it is not a valid argument to eliminate him from contention.
