It hits Megyn like a ton of bricks when the reporter says it had to be Trump himself who released the tape. She had never even considered that as a possibility.
Once she has, Kelly and Kurtz can’t understand why he would do such a thing. Yet, in discussing the idiocy of releasing it, they hit on the very reason he did it....publicity! They have stumbled upon the answer to their own question, but they don’t believe it.
“I don’t understand”, “It makes no sense”, “he’s turning a one day story into days of news coverage, how dumb”. (not actual quotes).
Donald PUNKED the press 25 years ago and is doing it all over again now, grabbing the headlines and dominating the media coverage. Just brilliant press manipulation. Even if they thought they were being punked, they still just couldn’t help themselves. They are so self absorbed that they just can’t see it.
This (non) story is hilarious on multiple levels.
