The '86 is a great rifle - I have had several of them and they are rugged, smooth and accurate. They also kick like a moose in most of their issued calibers (like .38-56 .40-82, .45-70, .45-90, .50-110 Express, etc.)

$1.2M is a lot of money - just means that the really rich have a lot of money to burn. If you want a decent '86, choice examples abound in the $4K - 5K range. Browning and Winchester both made good replicas recently and can be had for just over a $1K and occasionally less.

Yep, very handsome rifles. I had one of repro Model 71s for a while. It upheld the tradition of brutal recoil, I can attest. I miss the big .348, but my shoulder doesn't.
