So what do they think is going to happen to the cat who’s shredding everything, if they can’t them declawed.

They can still rip the curtains and furniture right after you’ve trimmed their claws.

The two times we tried the claw covers, one set lasted two days, and the second set were chewed off before we got home from the vet.

They will scratch anywhere and everywhere except the scratching post. even if you sprinkle catnip on it.

We finally found something they like clawing more than the furniture. My wife puts down a couple of those rubber floow mats that kids play on (the ones that interlock). The cats like clawing them to the exclusion of everything else. We have 3 cats and none claw the furniture now.
