These are also people who believe albinos are witches and that raping a virgin will cure AIDS, so with such infantile minds, anything is believable.
Several years ago, my boss was in South Africa, and there was a national scandal brewing. Some high ranking government official had incest with an under-aged relative.
But that was not considered scandalous. Rather, the fact that he had not used a condom was what was made the headlines. IE: incest with underage girl not outrageous...but possibly spreading HIV was.
The guy’s response to the media: Its ok, we both took a shower first. IE: even with all the international outreach to ‘educate’ people in Africa, this well educated politician believed taking a shower before sex would stop the spread of HIV.
And that’s South Africa...which is a whole lot more civilized than central Africa. I’ve seen stories on the poor albinos who get their legs hacked off as a good luck charm.
