Between this imbecile and the bruthahs raising their fists for a recent photo, it’s clear that obama’s West Point is falling on its collective arse.

Rightfully so!
On my graduation from Army Basic Training, I was standing in relaxed formation with my company prior to the march to the parade ground. The guy next to me was smoking a cigarette and I asked him for a hit on it. No sooner did he pass it to me and I took a hit that our DI saw ME smoking it and JUMPED ALL OVER MY ASS AND FORCED ME TO EAT IT........LOL!

Not exactly a march. They are route stepping from the barracks to Michie Stadium for graduation. Technical term is a gaggle. If it was a parade, they would all be in the same uniform, i.e. trousers not skirts. Yes. A big nothing burger. Random no-name nutjob "vets" are outraged? Gimme a break.

Agree. That was an organized gaggle from A to B, not an actual march. Been there, done that at USAFA. Gaggled from the busses to the outside of the stadium for grad ceremonies...then did the official march after forming up at the appropriate time.

Broken window syndrome?
A lot of military training is nonsensical and trivial to the outside observer.
It is details and details all the time, with discipline required all the time.
Route step is a relaxed formation but is is a formation none the less.

Cadets are allowed to carry phones, but may not use them while in formation or marching, Christopher Kasker, the West Point public affairs director told the Daily News.
He added that the the graduating cadet should not have been on her phone during the march, and the infraction was usually addressed by an on-the-spot correction.
"Cadets have an individual responsibility for ensuring their appearance and actions reflect the highest level of military professionalism," Kasker said.

A guy in my USAF pilot training class still had 8-hrs of tours left on graduation day. Would not let him leave, or pin on his bars, until he finished marching his tours.

West Point isn’t what it used to be. And that is not good.

Marines are not allowed to walk and text or walk and talk on a cell phone. They are to be alert at all times going to and fro.
