I am more certain every day that Frank is an apostate pope-the parish priest here never mentions him at all, which I think is telling...
He’s never embraced ME! Oh, well....PapaBen did.
A++++ Excellent! Overcast a bit here, no rain till after nine so we are grilling tonight. Kabobs and some sides from Wegmans....should be yummy. My SIL likes to cook on a charcoal grill. I am eating healthy and loving it.
We had FD elections last night and the ones I supported all got in...it was a sweep much like the village elections were. My DH said now we need a sweep in the national elections.....I have no one left running, so I don’t much care. Oh, well.
Thank you!
I almost never cook indoors in Spring/Summer-meat grilled outdoors, lots of salads, etc-to avoid heating up the kitchen-this evening I’m grilling some chicken legs, and I’ve got a salad with spinach, baby greens, tomato and raw zucchini strips made and chilling in the fridge...
it’s kind of liberating in a way. xshub and i were talking about it, he played golf with a liberal friend who was riding him about Trump, and xshub said, hey, he’s not my candidate, i didn’t vote for him, but you will have to deal with him if he’s elected! because we are not emotionally invested in him in the slightest, bc it’s pretty much even up, no matter who wins we are screwed, there is no need to defend him to anyone. he is who is, and if he ends up elected he will need to be dealt with. We did laugh last night at him calling warren Pocahontas. Dana Perino said something on the 5 which was very true, that Trump says out loud into a microphone the stuff the rest of us say in the privacy of our living rooms. that is what people like. it’s not presidential in the slightest, but it’s funny as hell to hear him say that stuff.
you are so lucky to have people who like to cook living with you!
I’m all alone, so I can cook what I like-and I like the food I grew up eating-grilled meat and nice fresh salad of veggies-healthy non-processed food, loaded with protein and other things good for humans-not carbs or sugars which are not...
I wish he would have called her what we call her here-Fauxcohontas-but it was funny-I’m perfectly okay with returning to the bare knuckles, non PC, downright vulgar political style that I’ve read existed in the early days of the country-those guys had honesty and huevos-even if they were somewhat uncouth, at least people knew where they were on an issue without having to mount a covert operation to find out-I like that...
his plain spokenness is the least of my problems with him. i am concerned that he is thin skinned and a bully and doesn’t have the temperament to govern. bare knuckles are fine if one has discernment when to employ them. my concern is his lack of discernment.
i cook what i like too and am having pork roast and salad for dinner tonight. we don’t eat processed foods either, but still it’s nice to have someone else to cook for you, that 1)likes to cook and 2) is good at it!
I have a wait-and-see attitude-a thin skinned person can be either smart or stupid-Obama is thin skinned and stupid-he is also a hater, and he has never really been employed as an adult in the usual sense-I doubt he would have been able to run a company or even hold a job for any length of time before he was either canned or the stockholders demanded that he be removed-Trump is a businessman and had a TV show, too-hopefully that has made him smart enough to know when to go balls to the wall, and when to put the brakes on-we will see...
It’s supposed to be “Fauxcahontas.”
And yes, he is an internet comments section running for president.
That is super, I agree-my 1st husband had the same ranch upbringing as I did-he liked to cook, and was just as able to cook a healthy, fresh meal as I was. MrT5 could make coffee, instant oatmeal and microwave popcorn, but that was it-so it has been a long time since I lived with someone who cooked well and liked to...
I’m officially old now. Just picked up new glasses with “progressive lenses.”
He’s the nominee so none of us can do anything but wait and see. I have a healthy skepticism, that’s why the exuberant cheerleading rubs me raw. No one knows how he will govern. We only know what he SAYS. His judgment imo is suspect. People love his plainspokeness but there is far more at stake than that.
I think a lot of people have become stingy with their expectations-I know I have-after being disappointed with McCain and Romney, only to be appalled and furious with Obama and all his minions-and now Bill and Hillary cranking up the Clinton machine and promising us that old twofer deal again...
I’ve worn progressive lenses since I was 43-and I started wearing progressive contact lenses as soon as they were available...
I can’t stand stuff in my eyes. Couldn’t even do eye drops myself until late 30s. I can’t see me ever having contacts.
