Both our daughter and son went to a liberal college but got degrees in criminal justice, the only conservative curriculum there then. Both of them took pleasure in taunting the libs but in this day and age that would be difficult. :)
I had only been back stateside a few month so I was unimpressed by her untouchable status and stuck my little paw in the air. When she called on me I asked if she understood that her statement was quite racist as she was making assumptions purely on the basis of the student's appearance.
She walked back to where I was sitting, loomed over me and demanded loudly, "Are you calling me racist?"
Once again having only slight knowledge of American norms but having been very well tutored in logic I responded that if she actually believed what she was spouting then yes, she was racist.
She glared at me for about ten seconds before she laughed and told the class, "yes, that was racist and only one of you had the guts to call me on it."
Her point was that the people we would come in contact with in the criminal justice system would use every tactic to get us to feel sorry for them and invoking racism, classism or a bunch of other -isms was a favorite tactic.
The rest of the lecture was quite interesting.
