So, I had this anecdotal economic indicator I have used for many years.
I’m not sure if it still works, but;
If the general competence and quality of service I received from a “Fast Food” drive thru was really bad, I knew our overall economy was good.
Conversely, If the quality of service was really good, our economy was in really bad shape.
close, but not quite.
When your neighbor is out of work; times are getting hard.
When your brother in law is laid off; it’s a recession.
When YOU are unemployed; it’s a depression!
