I don’t get swallows to my knowledge here and haven’t seen an Oriole in orange.

I do get tons of starlings, house finches and California quail. I’ve got two pair of Eurasian Collared Dove? nesting here, a pair of robins and killdeer who keep trying to run me out of my garden.

I do appreciate the golden eagles and the red tailed hawks. There is a great horned owl that has shown up a couple of times this spring - causes me to smug the house when he comes. :)

You get some neat birds! I love the call of the Collared Dove more than the Mourning Dove. California Quail and their top notches are beautiful.

We had a flock of 50 Red-Crowned Amazon parrots pass through once. Unbelievable sqwacks!!!! Deafening, actually but they are stunning to see. We have a few that lurk about year'round it seems.

My best bird story is the Macaw I saw flying around our neighborhood. My mom was driving and I told her to follow that bird. Well, the bird landed in a tree in someone's backyard and I ran up to the house where the bird landed and it was Arthur Laffer's house. He let me in to see his collection of exotic birds. TRUE STORY.
