Much has been lost over the past year.

As one of the older members here, I totally disagree. What has been done here in the past years is better than what was done in the heady early days. Back then we didn't quite realize that GOPe betrayed Gingrich and the contract with America the second they actually took power. This last time we learned that the Republicans are set up to screw us worse than the democrats.

We have worked through and vetted a tiresomely long list of possible presidential candidates. We have pointed out the flaws of each, and we have learned the error of the old ways arguing liberal versus conservative, which we thought was substantive, but in fact was just a door swinging on the uniparty hinge always opening for those who were trying to profit at the expense of America. We have nailed the last nail in the coffin of GOPe and were successful in communicating to the sellout GOPeers that they are the ones inside of it.

Anyone here remember Jeb! - Jeb! who? Never heard of him, That is how effective we have been.

We have figured out a direction that our country must go to be our great country again. It must worry about America and Americans and stop worrying about the rest of the world or selling out to globalist frauds selling us a bill of goods.

It's been a very good year for FreeRepublic indeed. It's been the best ever to date.

And we do have a great task ahead of us. We need to hold Trump accountable to live up to his promises and stay on the straight and narrow as Washington DC tries to knock him off course. We need to support him when he works for us and let him know our great disappointment when he gives into the K-street crowd.

Interesting read. It looks like you put your heart and soul into it, but I disagree on your Premise.

If Cruz had caught fire, won numerous Primaries and amassed the required Delegates like Trump did, Jim would have supported him over Trump and told the embattled Trumpsters to give it up and support the Nominee.

The thing is, FReepers had nothing to do with Trump winning and Cruz losing. Trump played the game better than Cruz and it was obvious to me as a former Cruzer that the Die was Cast after Iowa became a footnote if not a blip in the doomed Cruz Campaign.

Cruz proved himself to be a Regional Candidate and the last two Months of his Campaign were painful for me to observe.

Now that the Presumptive Nominee is Trump, we either fight the War with the Army we have or we just give up and wait for Hillary's Coronation. Looks like you choose the latter.

No Candidate is perfect. The Bush's (41 and 43) were RINO’s and to be perfectly honest, if not for Trump you would be blaming your fellow FReepers because Jeb! would be the presumptive Nominee at this moment in time.

Cruz's downfall was his fault alone, not the fault of the FR Trump contingent most of whom were Cruz Supporters long before they became Trump supporters. I stuck with Cruz as long as it made sense to do so, but I knew when it was time to get on the Trump Lifeboat as I watched the S.S. Cruztanic glide under the waves.

Anyway, have a nice life. I wish you well whether we agree or not. Time to look forward to defeating Hillary and the DemoncRats in November. I hope you will join the effort.

we better understand that divided the left conquers... UNITED we stand....

We are way past right vs left. That is not a meaningful concept. It is America against the uniparty rats inside our barn eating our seed-corn while telling us they are liberal rats or conservative rats. And we have figured out that your heros Rush, and Levin, and Beck are part of the problem, playing the same game- supporting "right-wing" rats.

I believe in giving people who have been here the longest a little extra respect and leeway, because I believe institutional memory is important to all organizations. But, that said, I have found that some of the people who have been here the longest (and I know from personal experience, it isn't that they are chronologically that much older than everyone else) are among the most abusive and recalcitrant posters.

There have been more than a few whose exit from FR I regret, and even mourn, as far as that can go in today's digital world. But being here before 2000 shouldn't grant an unlimited "get out of courtesy jail free" card. At some point, a few have simply worn out their welcome.

And I disagree with Axeslinger II's premise that is is not Jim Robinson's forum...it IS his forum. We don't want Free Republic to be a victim of "the tragedy of the commons".

I really believe the immigration issue is at the core of most of the nevertrump people. Many even here support or did support the cheap labor express and as long as there is cheap labor they don’t care what it is doing to destroy our country.

That's been a fairly common refrain coming from those on their way out.

Frankly, in evaluating much of the anti-Trump rhetoric, I believe most of them suffered from Smartest Person In The Room Syndrome (SPITRS™).

They just didn't seem to be able to accept the fact that their arguments didn't persuade fellow FReepers, and as a result became unacceptably abusive.

Thank you for spelling that “boogeyman” - “boogieman” would have also be great. Either way.

I remember the days of “bogeyman”. Almost made one loose it.

Just kidding.

Take note, everyone. If your intent is to light yourself on fire and jump into an ammo dump, this is the way you do it. No half-assed opus here, this was money all the way. Enjoy the zot, AxeslingerII. I sure the hell did.

Trump is a raging social liberal

Gee, I guess you really believed Ted's talking points.

Too bad, that kind of hyperbole (called lies) really hurt him with people that weren't true believers (in Cruz).

The truth is far from that. Just so you understand: Hillary, now THERE's a raging social liberal. Trump certainly isn't a reliable social conservative, but for you to still believe he's a raging social lib means you either haven't actually listened and looked at his positions, or you simply want to rehash old (and untrue) garbage.

“Back in 2005 me and Travis McGee and others put with with exponentially more shite from posters here including old timers and for positions that today are hallmarks here”

Here here! As far as I’m concerned Travis’ “quislings hanging from the trees” comment during that time frame was profound and likely, in time prophetic.

If Jim Robinson decides he has had enough of it, watch how long this forum lasts.

It isn’t a perpetual motion machine. Someone has to impart some energy to it to keep it going.
