If they need to see a true historian, they should read the monumental work of Robert Caro on Lyndon Johnson, riveting, accurate, beautifully written. His history of Hill Country is so interesting with his words he takes you in to live it. Johnson was a very complex man but he became blinded by his quest for power. Corrupt to the core.
I have that book. You are correct. It is well written and great history.
LBJ was basically caught red handed stealing the election. Harry Truman sent Abe Fortas down to Texas to rescue him. Totally corrupt. It also makes me think a lot less of Truman.
