Heres a light-hearted question for a beautiful Friday morning. What are the most visually beautiful weapons ever created? I was gonna ask for your top 5 or top 10, but, really, why limit ourselves? ANY weapons count; notice Ive counted warships on my list. I hope I havent listed all the best. Have at it, gang. Tiger tank 1911 .45 1921 Thompson BAR 1851 Colt Navy revolver M-60 and/or MG-42 Any ship of the line circa. 1770 1815, such as LOrient.
True, but it was used by the Air Force, quite extensively, once adopted. Never was a fan of the F-16 (I'm a former Zoomie, myself), and preferred the F-18 over anything modern Air Force, save the A-10. I prefer the Blue Angels to the Thunderbirds for this reason.
It was sitting in the cockpit of an F-4 Phantom at the Idaho Air National Guard base back in the '80s that got me into the Air Force.
So, thanks for the hand-me-down! The F-4 is a true hot rod, in that it shows that if you put a big enough engine (or two) in anything, even a brick will fly. It's among my favorites for that reason, plus it looks cool.
I could accept King Tiger instead of Panther. But Tiger, with that square, no slope armor? No way! Angles are your friend if you’re inside a tank taking incoming. Preferably steep ones. And it just looks cooler, aesthetically.

To me the most beautiful propeller fighter planes were the British Supermarine Spitfire, the Vought F4U Corsair, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, and the Grumman F7F Tigercat. From the jet era I select the Convair F-106 and the Lockheed F-104.

In one of the films about the Winter War, a Finnish woman spoke of the Finns in their winter whites sneaking up on Russkis and cutting their throats with their puukko knives and standing the corpses up to freeze. While handling one of the puukko knives she described it as a weapons system!

Indeed.
I’d have to say the Luger and 1911 pistols along with the Python from Colt.

Oh, that’s one of those trick photos. If you stare at it for several minutes and relax, she is actually holding a pistol!
