Not a bad list. Personally, I would flip Battlestar Galactica with Babylon 5 and Star Trek with The Twilight Zone.
Babylon 5 had a clear continuous story, whereas a large part of Galactica was made up as they went along.
the Twilight Zone is the clear gold standard for story telling with highest percentage of wheat to chaff of any SF series.
Battlestar Galactica reboot before bringing in Starbuck as an angel was good.
Babylon 5 is excellent. The spinoff series was horribly trope.
Agreed.
Babylon 5’s genius was the long planned plot arc. The compliant telepath learning the truth and overthrowing the corps. The throw-away Centauri ambassador to emperor. The Narn outcast struggling for their freedom leading them to both political and personal redemption.
Quark is not listed. That’s nuts best show ever.
Galactica sucked in both iterations. Flip it with Red Dwarf or you’re a smeghead.
Star Trek deserves to be #1. No other show on this list inspired so many kids to become doctors or engineers, who actually came up with some of the tech in the show.
