In fairness, I had a new 1989 Lincoln Towncar that also broke a ball joint with 1000 miles on it. Ford took care of the issue free of charge. I remember an article, long ago in the Readers Digest, wherein a motorist had an axle break. It was a Rolls Royce, and he notified the company and ordered a new axle. Rolls replaced it free of charge, saying it could not possibly charge him to fix an axle, since Rolls Royce axles do not break.

Sounds like the Rolls that was driving across a field in Spain and broke the axle on a rock.
Rolls sent a repair crew to fix it.
