Noun

Dictionary.com has it as a real word....if I can’t find it in an American dictionary, I don’t use the word.

Just last night, on another FR thread dealing with how our universe transitioned from a "tohubohu" state to the marvelous, complexly-ordered universe we inhabit, I posted the following (original) graphic:
The upper half of the image is the very definition and illustration of "tohubohu". So -- I am going to add that term to the graphic (following "high entropy").

"Without intervention by the Creator to impose anisotropic, designed structure upon it, a "Big Bang" universe would have remained forever "tohubohu" -- and we would not exist."

Just got back from touring the building that will be my daughter’s restaurant. They closed on it today and they will begin renovations tomorrow. It was my doctor’s office forever, then a bulk food store more recently. We are going out to celebrate that, my birthday and Father’s Day all in one. Happy, happy, happy.

Sorrry -- I expected you to be familiar with the term, which is a concatenation of the Hebrew words,
Tohu: תֹּהוּ
and
Bohu: בֹּהוּ
which are used in the Bible when it says "...the earth was without form and void".
I actually prefer the full concatenated form, (including "and" = "wa" = וָ ):
תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ,
which is anglicized as either "Tohu wa Bohu" or "Tohu wa-Bohu".

Either way, the term describes the chaotic, formless, isotropic emptiness which our Creator organized into the structure of our universe when "The Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters"...
The presentation is almost at a halt, due to problems with "Canvas", the graphic software. ACD Systems has "re-tooled"the software to run on this current MacOS -- and has eliminated or messed up critical features used in the presentation. Thousands of us "orphaned" users are anxiously waiting for them to get their act together. :-(
