More to the point:
We left England BECAUSE they tried to disarm us.
Lots of rhetoric about other issues, but the war actually started when confiscation was attempted.

True. The war started when the Colonists started shooting the King's men. The Colonists started shooting the King's men when the King's men attempted to take their firearms.

The question that remains unanswered is, When the King [Washington DC politicians] send their men to take our firearms, will we have the courage and guts that the Colonists or will we meekly comply? That it, [the seizure, or attempted seizure] of our firearms by those who believe that they are our Lords and masters in Washington, D.C., will happen is a given. The only question remaining is when.
