Its not a matter of whether it was the most “SHOCKING” moment, its the most RELEVANT moment for the larger story... being dismissive of it, completely missing it, or belittling it shows how much of a A.D.D. our culture is...

Oh not one lost their head or got blowed up... yawn.

I think it will turn out that the only ones who can blow the horn are those with Valyrian blood in the first place. That’s why it is burning everyone else, they don’t have that “blood of the dragon” fire resistance that Dany seems to have.

>Now, technically he was born in the Marches so he could be called “Jon Waters”. Hmm, he does hang out with a cross-dresser now that I think about it...<

A warg hanging out with a cross-dresser. Oy!

Pointing out ones mortality is one thing... starving, beating and torturing them, and further mentally abusing them is quite another.

The High Sparrow was no different than the elites, he lusted for power just the same, only difference is he wasn’t high born, so he accumulated it wearing the robes of the church rather than the robes of wealth.

In the end he served himself, not any god, just like the rest of them.

It never said her brother would kill her actually. It said “the Valonquar” would strangle her.

“The Valonquar” just means “the little sibling”, it doesn’t say specifically it would her sibling, or whether it would be a male or female.

There’s a longstanding theory that Tyrion is the bastard son of Joanna Lannister (Tywin’s wife) and Aerys Targaryen (Dany’s father).

That would give an additional meaning to the title of the penultimate episode. While "Battle of the Bastards" refers to Jon Snow facing off against Ramsay Bolton, Tyrion was also involved in a battle, in Meereen.

In season one, Tyrion says to Bran, "I have a tender spot in my heart for cripples and bastards and broken things." I assume he was thinking of himself as a broken thing, but he might have unknowingly been talking about his bastard origins as well.

>I wonder if Fire/Flame could be the bastard name of a Targarion. That would make Jon Snow both Flame and Snow or..
both Fire and Ice!<

Since the Targaryens are associated with Fire, Jon Snow most certainly would be Fire and Ice. Maybe not in name, but definitely in blood.

I agree, Jamie is a redemption character.. can’t say it won’t happen, but I think odds that Arya killed him are low.... I still see the most likely path that he kills his sister in the end.

I had forgotten about the strangle part.

That would pretty much rule out Tyrion, or Arya wearing Jamies face.

I still believe the real Jamie will kill Cersi in the end as part of a redemption arc.

Jamie will become head of house Lanister after killing Cersi in my opinion.

Taking that one step more, will his queen be a certain Lady of Tarth? Or will she end up with a red-head who is sweet on her (LOL)?

Considering the first book was published in 1996 I would say no. I think the HBO writers are now only working within a rough framework of GRR Martin's storyline and are seizing opportunities to interject their own political agenda into the show. When GRR Martin finally finishes the last book, I doubt it contains anything resembling the propagandist catch phrases that the HBO screenwriters built into the scripts.

I have been wondering about that as well!

I think it is possible, that could go either way.

There is also the loose end of the one remaining Barratheon bastard still alive. Surely that has to come into play eventually in the story, otherwise why introduce him and keep him around all this time?

I was watching the last episode again and in the scene where Eddard Stark was with Lyanna Stark something occurred to me. Both Tyrion and Jon Snow killed their mother at childbirth. Could this be something that happens if a Targaryen child is birthed by a non-Targaryen mother? Having babies outside of the Targaryen family may explain the dark hair.
Just wondering.

The dragon horn (Dragonbinder) hasn’t been introduced on the TV show yet, only the books.

The biggest unknowns in the series in my opinion.

What happens to Arya Stark in the end

What happens to Gendry (robert Baratheon’s last remaining bastard)

How the wall comes down (it has too)

Who the Lady of Tarth ends up with (if anyone)

Who eventually kills Cersi

What happens to Littlefinger (or more specifically how does he get his just rewards for all his treatchery)

Brans eventual fate

And who marries Daneries to unite to kingdom against the undead.

Renly, Loras, Oberyn, etc are all fruits in the books too, it’s just not something that is focused on graphically. It’s mentioned a few times here and there, then the plot moves on to more interesting things. Even Cersei and Daenarys do a little “lesbian experimentation” in the books.

Varys and Littlefinger seem to have access to jetpacks or transporters.
