Correct me if I am wrong, but this so-called “imbalance” will be self-correcting . . . once minorities quit whining and actually contribute great things to the progress of the nation. Those that have done this already, have received a lot of recognition. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with naming schools after Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver. Bronze statues are fine, too. Malcom X and Iman Farrakhan? Not so much.
My Choctaw family has a proud heritage, but not any of us deserve to be on a national statue. (Although Pushmataha has one of the nicest monuments in the Congressional Cemetery east of the Capitol.)
